    Merck Applies Internet Savvy
    to Connect with Physicians
MSD-Sweden* joined Yahoo! in November to launch “My Yahoo! For Physicians.” The new Web site provides the Scandinavian subsidiary with another avenue for communicating with physicians. This, in itself, is not news. Most pharmaceutical companies have Web sites for the dissemination of corporate information. But “My Yahoo! For Physicians” goes further by providing access to a comprehensive array of balanced and accurate medical information, not all of it relating to Merck research and drugs and much of it from independent sources.
The idea is to help physicians to serve their patients better. Doctors can now assemble and personalize their own Web pages with the latest information concerning medical advances in their specialties without having to surf the entire Internet.

*Merck is known as “MSD” outside of the United States.
